Brilliant place to learn to dive (61 dive shops), highly recommended Ocean Dive League very experienced, very supportive 5 stars definitely. Can do awesome dives, 2 shipwrecks, coral garden etc. If you love luxury over character I don’t think this is a place for you. Easy to do day trips and get a personal taxi driver. Food was good. Lots of fish and eggs! People extremely kind, helpful, accommodating. Not really a place to go clothes shopping. Definitely would go there again. Only negative thing, so much rubbish everywhere, on the beach, in the water, on the streets. Saw a washed up dead pig on the beach!!JaniceAustralia - 10Scored 10

I would suggest 2 nights 3 days max if you are not a diver. The group I was with just snorkeled and 3 days was ample. The Snorkling was amazing and free the best I have done in Bali without paying a fortune . The trip to Amed was a tour within itself seeing the different demographics of Bali , long but worth it. I would rather look at the mountains and villages from a car and take in scenery than sit in terminal, boat for 3 hours till snorkeling tour starts.

Best is the snorkeling, right off Jemeluk black sand beach. IDR 50000 (AU$5) to hire snorkel gear for 24 hrs Lots of diving /fishing opps. Don't go there for the shopping. Less touristy than other Bali places. Also seemingly cheaper, ie from AU$35/night for aircon room on beach. Great walks and great views. Everywhere we ate was decent. The view of Mount Agung from the inn was breathtaking, right at my doorstep, so every breakfast felt so rejuvenating. If you need laundry service or a motorbike rental, you can get assistance from Putu and Ketut -- they'll arrange it for you. In fact, Putu even arranged for me to have my full body balinese massage in the comfort of my own room!

It has a big balcony facing the beach as our front yard. They have swimming pool but we never swim in that pool since we could jump anytime to the sea in front of our room. If you want snorkelling or diving experience, just ask the staff and they will help you with that. A perfect choice for our 3 nights holiday. Perfect location, good foods, friendly & helpful staffs. Will stay here again for sure when we're back to Amed!

Breakfasts were big and delicious. nice and quiet, we had the top villa which is for sure the best if you’re okay to climb a few stairs. outdoor shower was a highlight.
