This year has been full of travel as always, and in this article I will give you a review of the past year. This year has been for me the year of confirmation of my project of a world tour in 2014 and my activities as a web entrepreneur. I have traveled alternately solo or accompanied by a friend in very different countries.
Travel Retrospective 2013
- Germany (First week of January)
I started gently with a trip to Germany where I spent Christmas and New Year 2013.
I was actually in a language school for two weeks in Berlin and we took advantage of the weekends to explore Germany.
The first week of January was an opportunity for me to discover other cities in Germany, besides Berlin, such as Potsdam and Dresden (I had also been to Frankfurt in 2011 and Munich when I was younger).
I have actually spoken very little about this trip on the blog to my great regret 🙁
- Bali and Dubai (first three weeks of May)
This May was an opportunity to return to Asia and more specifically to Bali where I had been in May 2011 but in 2011, I had not really visited this island, as I was at the end of a world tour and had only been to Kuta and the Gili Islands.

I also took advantage of this opportunity to do scuba diving in Bali at Amed.
I have written very little about my trip to Bali.
I visited a friend in Dubai after my stay in Bali, here is: My opinion on Dubai.
It was my first step into the Middle East!! Next time I come, I plan to go to Jordan.
- Back to Berlin (first week of June)
After two weeks of German classes, at the end of December and beginning of January, I took advantage of a week of training (German classes) funded by my company to go once again to Berlin where I was hosted by a German family.
- China (20 days from mid-August to early September)
During my summer trip in 2012, I had only a brief glimpse of China since I spent only one week in Beijing. So I took advantage of this summer to get to know the country of my ancestors a little better. I was lucky to spend just under three weeks in Beijing, Xi’an, Guilin and Hong Kong.

I have not yet written articles to give you my opinion on Xi’an, Guilin or Hong Kong, but I will do so soon.
- Trip to Brazil and Lisbon (12 days in November).
This was the shortest exotic trip I had this year as it lasted only 12 days. I only visited two places in Brazil (Rio de Janeiro and Ilha Grande), of course I would have liked to do more, but you can’t always do everything and you have to know how to appreciate what you do and take your time.

These two places were for me the discovery of Latin culture because I have never been to a Latin country except Italy. I was really very surprised by the warmth, generosity and kindness of the people. I also met several South American people and I want more. I plan to go to Peru soon.
- Trip to Burma (two and a half weeks from mid-December to early January)
This trip allowed me to get away from the major tourist destinations and I can tell you it really did me good. Being in places with very few tourists really delighted me and I really felt out of my usual environment. I really liked the small towns and villages.
It reminded me of the serenity I had in Tasmania in Australia when I lived in a small town.
You get the impression that the inhabitants live a peaceful and uneventful life. They enjoy what they have and ask for nothing more.
I have not yet been able to talk about my trip to Burma, but it won’t be long.
2013 Year Review
The year 2013 is one of the most accomplished years in terms of travel along with 2011. I was able to travel 80 days abroad while having a steady job, which is huge.
During the past year, I was able to make these few trips to test myself and to take a first step into worlds I did not know. I also confirmed my thoughts and desires.
I think 2014 will hold many surprises for me and I hope to learn a lot more by traveling.
I realize that I have traveled a lot but there are very few traces of my travels on this blog. I will try to talk a little more about my trips but I already have a lot of catching up to do, which is good, I am not leaving again before May 2014 😀
