As you already know, I have traveled all continents except Africa and I am always in search of new adventures. Today, I will take you through the travel forums that have shaped mine.
In another article, I talked about the most frequently asked questions in a travel forum, it’s surprising to see how the questions are the same and keep coming back each time in a travel forum. It seems that people do not read them and wait for moderators or contributors to answer their question.
How to properly use a travel forum?
First of all, what is a forum?
It is a discussion space where there are moderators, beginners, and regulars who answer the beginners’ questions.
If you are not used to quickly searching for information, do as I do. Type on Google “forum” + “the name of the country you want to go to”. You will find the forum of that country.

- The first thing on a forum is to introduce yourself because imagine arriving somewhere and asking lots of questions! People will wonder what this unknown person is doing here asking so many questions.
- Use the search function to see if there are similar topics because it is always frustrating to see and repeat the same thing.
- Look at the proposed sections and choose the right section, I often see posts that are misplaced because they are not well placed, it is a shame to waste others’ time.
- Find the right information and if you haven’t found it, post a message and wait for a reply, be as precise as possible. Questions like, “I’m going for 3 weeks in January to Australia, what is the budget?” are too vague, what do you want to do?
- Thank the people who helped you with feedback from your trip. When my brother went to Finland, he asked for help on a Finland forum and requested information about the country. Upon his return, I did an interview about his trip which you can read at the link above and we included a link to that forum because the people there helped him a lot.
The usefulness of participating in a forum for us bloggers
When I started my blog, I participated a bit on the Australia – Australia forum because one of the main themes during the first 3 months was Australia, I even have a quarter of my articles about this topic.
The reason I participated in this forum was that it would send me people looking for information about Australia, so they would come to my blog.
Since I answered regularly, I increased my traffic by half at the time, which was 40 visitors per day back then because people were curious to see my blog given that I had good knowledge about Australia.
