Making a living from your blog and Monetizing your blog
Last week, I received a person who contacted me to ask how I monetize my blog; he may have arrived with the queries “monetize your travel blog” because he himself has a travel blog. Here is his question:
I read your articles about you earning XXXeur/month with this blog alone.
I looked into ways to monetize a blog/site but I don’t see Adsense, affiliate programs, or sales of your products, so I admit I’m a bit surprised.Could you tell me (no need to detail) where this income comes from?
What I answered him was simple; I gave him a link about ways to monetize a blog. The answer was inside. What I don’t like, and what I had pointed out in one of my articles on monetizing a travel blog, is that people want the information directly and want a magic solution. Yet, I myself explained in this article here how to monetize your blog step by step. I earn my income from advertising like a newspaper, or Google, or any website.
Making a living from your travel blog
I think it’s not possible, but earning some income to supplement your end of the month is possible. It’s easier to earn income from several sites than from one site, and that’s my case. Travel is a very sought-after theme and is an endless market. It’s up to you to make the most of it.
In my case, I think I won’t be able to live from my travel blog in France in the long term for several reasons; it requires many skills to succeed: being a good writer, being a marketer, having a blog with a good design, and promoting it with social networks. Being able to live from your blog requires being multi-skilled. I explain this in this article.
However, having a blog unlocked and helped me acquire several skills, and with these skills, I can see my future differently in other activities. I am currently working on other blogs, some of which are topics close to my heart. One of these topics is personal development; I would like to improve some of my skills to share them, and that is what I am doing on this blog: tanned.fr.
These blogs might generate enough money for me to live on in the medium term, but in the long term, it requires a lot of work.
Each blog is different and can generate money in its own way, but don’t think you can live from it alone; only 0.1% of bloggers succeed.
