Seoul Neighborhood for Your Trip

In a previous article, I talked to you about visiting Seoul in 2 or 3 days, now, in this article, I will present a bit more about other Seoul neighborhoods which, in my opinion, are interesting for travelers or visitors to the city of Seoul.

Seoul neighborhoods:

• Around Namsan Park,

Namsan Park is located on the slopes of Mount Namsan. The N Seoul Tower offers a breathtaking view of the capital. At the foot of the tower is the octagonal pavilion, a botanical garden. Ideal for jogging. To the north of Mount Namsan, you can find Korea House which offers authentic Korean cuisine as well as the Namsangol Hanok Village with groups of traditional houses.

• Namdaemun Market,

A few minutes’ walk from the old Namdaemun Gate is the open-air market. The market is also the central market for Korean wholesalers! You can find everything you need there; clothing and shoes, household items, foodstuffs, flowers, tools, all kinds of accessories, gifts, sports articles, household appliances, furniture, etc.

• Around Daehak-ro Avenue

Near this place, you can find small theaters, galleries, cafes, folk taverns, and restaurants.

• Dongdaemun Market

You can find good deals at Dongdaemun Market where many shopping centers are gathered.

&nbsp ;

• Around Sinchon

The three major universities are located in the Sinchon neighborhood: Yonsei University, Ewha Womans University, and Sogang University. All around, you find many bars, restaurants, cafes, snack bars, beauty salons, fashion boutiques, performance halls, nightclubs, department stores, and shopping malls where students and young Koreans mingle. The Seoul neighborhood is very lively.

• Around Hongik University

The university is known for its fine arts faculty. This is where the trendy youth of the capital can be found! To see in this Seoul neighborhood, the Independence Park which is a park to commemorate South Korea’s independence following foreign intervention.

• Around the Gangnam neighborhood

You can find the Seoul World Trade Center, the Cheongdam-Dong neighborhood with its famous luxury stores, shops of globally known brands.

• Around Yeouido

Home of finance and business with the Korea Stock Exchange, the neighborhood houses the Korea Stock Exchange, the studios of the two main television channels, KBS and MBC, the federation of Korean industries.

The Han River is the symbol of the capital, and is right on the edge of the financial district. Activities such as water skiing, yachting, canoeing, kayaking, and fishing are practiced there.

• Around Jamsil,

It is one of the most active neighborhoods in Seoul. This is where you find Lotte World, the largest indoor amusement park in Korea, which attracts a young clientele (It is the Korean equivalent of Disneyworld Paris)! Inside there is the folk museum which presents the history of Korea, miniature traditional villages, etc.

• Around the Olympic Park

Seoul hosted the 1988 Olympic Games. The Olympic Park is notable for hosting a park of contemporary sculptures made of stone, metal, wood, and glass.
