In a previous article, I told you about my various fruit picking adventures and the methods I used to find these jobs.

In this article, I will give you the pay levels of my different jobs in Australia and some details!

The list of my fruit picking salaries in Australia

• My 1st job: Cherry picker

The job: Picking cherries, the bucket you put on your shoulders and in front of your head weighs 4-5kg which quickly hurts your head and fingers. A ladder is sometimes necessary.

The salary: Paid by output, 10 dollars per crate (10 kg), it is possible to do 2-4 per hour but at the beginning you do 1! Some pickers make up to 350 dollars per day, I was closer to 50 dollars for 5 hours of work!

Working hours and benefits: you work as you want but you have to finish quickly because there is a limited number of trees and since you are paid by output, it is better to work quickly if you don’t want to waste your time! I stayed 2 days!

Location: I worked in Young, New South Wales

• My 2nd job: Strawberry picker

The job: I picked strawberries, you have to be either squatting or bent over.

The salary: Paid by output 5 – 7 dollars per punnet, I did 2 punnets per hour, I managed to make 40 dollars.

Office (B2+)	1,800-2,800 AUD/week

Working hours and benefits : I worked between 3-5 hours depending on the weather (I worked 2 weeks and quit), we have the afternoon off.

Location : It took place in Cygnet, Tasmania &nbsp ;

• My 3rd job : Garlic picker

The job : with a shovel in hand, you have to dig up the garlic and be more or less fast !

Salary : 15 euros per hour

Working hours and benefits : it lasted one week, 8 hours per day, one hour break, 120 dollars per day.

Location : I worked at the same place as before &nbsp ;

• My fourth job : Cherry sorter

The job : Sort cherries into several grades, very nice, normal and bad

Salary : Paid by output, About 35 dollars per hour, the average is 30 dollars, 5 dollars per small bucket.

Working hours and benefits : 3 weeks, 5-6 hours per day, about 900 dollars per week, kitchen available for the whole team, free coffee ! I think it was my best salary in Australia.

Location : Cygnet Tasmania

• My fifth job : Peach Picker

The job : Picking peaches and using a ladder, tough work

Salary : Paid by output, 33 dollars per crate, it is huge ! Some people manage to do 7 in 7 hours, I did one in 2h30 !

Working hours and benefits: 1 day! Workplaces: I worked in Cobram in Victoria &nbsp ;

• My sixth job: Grape picker

The job: Cutting grapevines The salary: 18 or 19 dollars per hour, double pay on weekends, up to 700 dollars per week Working hours and benefits: 2 months, 1 hour break, free breakfast! Workplaces: it took place in Whitfield and Lancefield (Victoria) &nbsp ; &nbsp ;

• My seventh job: Bucket Man

The job: Pouring buckets into the bins The salary: 18 dollars per hour Working hours and benefits: 2 weeks, exhausting but 1 hour break Workplaces: same place as the previous one &nbsp ;

• My 8th job: Weed remover

The job: Removing weeds The salary: 19 dollars per hour Working hours and benefits: 1 day, 8 hours Location: Kunanurra, Western Australia &nbsp ;

• My 9th job: Worker at a funfair

The job: Shouting “come see the stand” and making the children laugh The salary: 12 dollars per hour Working hours and benefits: 10 hours, 120 dollars per day but for 3 days Location: Cairns, Queensland &nbsp ;

• My 10th job: Pumpkin picker

The job: Picking and sorting pumpkins The salary: 19 dollars per hour Working hours and benefits: 10 hours of work, 1 week, easy 900 dollars a week but tiring! Location: Mareeba, Queensland &nbsp ;

• My 11th job: Worker at a funfair

The job: Setting up the rides then running a stand

The salary: 15 dollars per hour

Working hours and benefits: 8 hours per day, 3 days, you can enjoy the attractions for free!

• My 12th job: DVD packer

The job: Making DVD cases, closing the cases and packing the DVDs The salary: 18 dollars per hour

Working hours and benefits: 7 hours per day on average, lunchroom, free milk and coffee, 3 months. Work is well paid in Australia, it’s the simplest job I’ve done but quite repetitive! Average 650 dollars per week, the boss liked me 😀 because some people earned less as they worked less.
