San Francisco

San Francisco, city located in the state of California,

When you think of San Francisco, you inevitably associate it with the Golden Gate Bridge, which was once the longest bridge in the world.

&nbsp ;

San Francisco is also known for its “art” side with its modern and contemporary art museum.

The different places I enjoyed in San Francisco! &nbsp ;

Little Saigon : 

This place is made up of Vietnamese restaurants; it corresponds to the Vietnamese district, the United States being very connected to Vietnam because of the Indochina war. I tasted Vietnamese dishes there and it is the best meal I have had to date. There is a recipe where they prepare beef in 7 different ways, a delight. However, do not hang around there after 11 p.m. because it gets a bit sketchy.

Russian Hill :

The reason it is called that is because the shape of the street resembles a roller coaster.

Pier 39 : 

If you like animals, this is the place to go.

This place is known for being the refuge of sea lions; when I was there I had never imagined a sea lion could be so big! D

One day, some sea lions stranded at the port and stayed as residents, gradually bringing their peers. Now, there are animal protection associations and this place attracts thousands of visitors every time.

The marina:

It is said that the houses next to the marina district are the most expensive in San Francisco and would cost several million dollars. This building is dedicated to art called the Palace of Fine Arts, it was built for the Panama-Pacific International Exposition. &nbsp ;

Chinatown:

You can find a Chinatown in almost every major city in the world, but the one in San Francisco is the largest Chinese community outside Asia and also the oldest in North America. Like in any other Chinatown, you can find the cheapest items in the city. Buy your souvenirs there 😀

Fisherman wharf:

Very popular with tourists, it is partly famous for its museums including the maritime museum. Located near the sea, it is a place where you can enjoy the pleasures of the sea because there are indeed restaurants where you can taste crab and seafood. This is the place where you take the ferry to go to Alcatraz.

Alcatraz Prison:

Often shown in movies, this place was a prison until 1930, it housed criminals like Al Capone, nicknamed “Big Al”, Robert Stroud known as the “Birdman of Alcatraz”. It’s a must-do, the audio guided tour is fun and shows us how the inhabitants lived in this prison.

JapanTown :

There are 3 JapanTowns in the United States, all in California, including one in San Francisco. It’s the Jap neighborhood!

The main attraction of this neighborhood is its temple, there are also tons of Japanese restaurants.

The SF Bay, Golden Gate Bridge :

The most visited place in San Francisco, it is the most famous building and is linked to the image of San Francisco. The bridge is all red, and 2 km long! You can have a beautiful view of San Francisco Bay, the city, and the Pacific Ocean. There are also bike paths which make visiting easier.

One thing to try is the “cable car“, it’s often full but it’s worth it and it has its charm!
