I am going to tell you my opinion about China, what I liked and disliked during my trip to China.
Opinion on China: Advantages and Disadvantages
I have dreamed of going to China since I was young because I am of Chinese and Cambodian origin! I fulfilled this dream this summer when I stayed a week in Beijing. I definitely plan to return in the coming years.
Opinion on China: What I liked in China
- The affordable prices in China, for food and transport, it’s nice to pay only 2-4 euros (to be divided by the number of people) to get home in the evening when you return.
- The food and the cuisine felt like I was at mom’s place :D.
- The beer, “Tsingtao”, it’s not the best beer in the world but for 1 euro 20 cents for 50cl! it’s worth it.
- The beauty of the temples and cultural activities in Beijing (the Great Wall of China is the must-see in Beijing, (it’s so huge).
- The climate when I went (in July), it was not too hot nor too humid.
- I was able to speak Chinese because the Chinese don’t speak much English so it was an advantage for me.
- There were more foreigners than I thought and August was a good month to visit Beijing.
- Beijing surprised me even though I didn’t expect much!
- When I went to China, I understood why China is a country on the rise because the labor is cheap and there are some opportunities to do business. Quite a lot of things are produced in China!
Opinion on China: What I hated or didn’t like in China
- People spitting in the street, it’s shocking even at the hotel when your window is open to hear spitting sounds, you know the kind of spit when your throat is clogged and you expel everything you can!!
- The rudeness of people, in Beijing when you have a seat or when the subway doors open you enter directly without letting people out! When you see a seat you run to take it as fast as possible. They don’t let people exit, it was one of the things that shocked me at first but you get used to it and I always got my seat first :D.
- There were too many people in some tourist spots especially in the Forbidden City, we were jostling to photograph a small ugly throne :D.
- The pollution and the cars, Beijing is one of the cities with the most polluted air in the world because some of their engines are not eco-friendly, it felt like old times in France, 20 years ago.
