I was telling you in another article that I was going to leave between July and September 2014. I have slightly changed my plan and I will talk about it in this article.
It’s happening in September 2014
Let’s say I am postponing the deadline, but it is to give myself more time and prepare better. I now have clearer ideas and I want to leave in September 2014, because I will start first with the African continent.
The reasons that pushed me to decide to leave at this date are:
- I told you about one of my dilemmas, a few months ago about going to Mauritius for my friend’s wedding. It is now decided, I plan to go there in September and by making this choice, it will disrupt my plan.
- Leaving in September will also allow me to fulfill several of my objectives such as learning Spanish and getting a driver’s license.
- Also knowing that I have a 3-month notice period which is quite long. I plan to do a mutual termination in May 2014. It is a symbolic date because I came back 3 years ago. It is at this time that everything will quickly accelerate, because there are many public holidays and I also plan to go to a language school and do some weekends abroad.
- I could also take advantage of the summer to do some administrative paperwork.
- I could also use the 3 months to get the vaccines needed to go to Africa.
The plan for 2014
I no longer plan to do a Working Holiday Visa in Canada in 2014, because I can still do it until I am 35 years old, the visa will probably be extended to two years in 2014 or 2015 so maybe it will happen in 2015.
My plan may still change, but the idea is to leave:
- To Mauritius for two weeks for my friend’s wedding in September.
- To South Africa for a few weeks to see the magnificent landscapes this country offers us.
- Then, I will head north to Tanzania and Kenya. I will take advantage of this moment to climb Kilimanjaro which is one of my dreams.
- I will go up to North Africa to Egypt where I will see the pyramids and probably go diving in the Red Sea.
- Then I will go to Jordan, to Petra to see one of the wonders of the world.
- I will head directly to South America and see what I decide.
I will normally stay in South America until October 2014.
I have decided not to go to North America to work for a few months anymore, because I choose to take more risks and stay longer in the South American continent to learn Spanish.
I will finance my trip with the savings I have made now and also with my websites.
If all goes well, I could self-finance with my websites, but you never know, a lot can change in a year.
Knowing what you want to do.
I have the impression that since I started working (2011), I plan my trip too far in advance and that everything is too well organized and already set.
- I had ordered and made my plan for China, 2 and a half months in advance.
- For the trip to Brazil, I bought my tickets at the beginning of the month to leave at the beginning of November 2014, that is three months in advance.
- I have already taken some of my leave to take my vacation in December, but I will only get approval in September.
- I already have a rough idea of the weekends I will do in May 2015.
I would like to make room for spontaneity during this trip around the world, but I feel like I have already planned everything :D.
