Going Out to Nightclubs and Partying in Beijing
During my stay in Beijing this summer, I spent 6 nights in Beijing and went out to 5 different places to party! In this article, I will give you a description of these places!
Going Out at Night in Beijing
The price of drinks is quite expensive in clubs, between 5 and 8 euros, which is basically the price I pay in France.
- If there is one must-visit place to have a drink, it is the San Li Tun district! This is where you can find a good number of nightclubs! There are many bars in this area! It is also where you find a shopping mall and it is also the meeting place for foreigners or expats (from my experience). You can enjoy this place to have a drink before going out to a nightclub!
- The Banana Club: it is reputed to be one of the best clubs in Beijing, it has a lounge side and a dance floor side, drinking on the dance floor is prohibited! There is a show where people dance on a pole! When I went this summer, it was a huge black guy over 2 meters tall dancing with a mask, he was a beast and a monster!
- The Mix and the Vics: those who have not been to Vics or Mix missed their night out in Beijing, these are very well-known nightclubs! Vics has a slightly higher number of foreigners than Mix, which is more of a hangout mostly with Chinese!
- The student district near the “Wudaokou” campus, this is where the university student district is located, there are mainly 2-3 well-known bars and clubs here: “Sensation,” “Propaganda,” and “Helen Café”! Drink prices are cheaper than in San Li Tun! This is also where you find many foreigners! It is better to go there during the week and save San Li Tun for the weekend!
- The bar of my hotel (or youth hostel), if you stay near Tiananmen, don’t miss the bar at the “365 inn”, it is the meeting place for travelers and backpackers traveling through China! Beers and liquors are not too expensive but still somewhat high!
