Traveling Economically and Responsibly in Europe or France.
During the summer, many French people choose to travel in Europe or France due to lack of means or time. I have decided to talk today about ways to travel economically and responsibly. I often travel by train or bus to get around Europe and France.
Traveling Without Stress
During my many trips in Europe, I have had the opportunity to take the train, car, plane, carpool, and also the bus. My two most frequently used modes of transportation have been the bus for short distances and the plane for long distances, but when I can take the train, I prefer this mode of transport.
- The bus is a good alternative in terms of price and travel time. Prices do not vary as much as flights if you book your ticket a few days or a week in advance except for major occasions (Christmas and New Year’s period to avoid). There are no unpleasant surprises. Examples of economical bus companies: Idbus, Eurolines, etc. This is why I have often taken the bus to go from Paris to London or Paris to Amsterdam, for a long weekend that I had not originally planned.

- The train is an economical means of transport when tickets are booked in advance. In France, for example, I buy my cheap SNCF ticket with OUIGO at least two months ahead. I have taken advantage of this twice, once to go to Lyon and another time to Montpellier. The tickets cost me less than 40 euros round trip instead of at least double the usual price.
