Europe Travel Budget: Expense Analysis
In this article, I will talk to you about my last 4 weekends abroad in Europe and the savings I could have made.
In December, I went to Berlin for 1 week.
In May, I visited Vienna for 4 days, then I went to Copenhagen for 4 days and finished in Stockholm for 3 days! There were some big weekends in May 😀 so I took advantage!

Europe Travel Budget, Visit to Berlin :
Having booked a last-minute flight, I got a good price for the period, it was indeed at Christmas.
Flight price: 240 euros
Hotel price: 102 euros for 5 nights
The 5 days in Berlin cost me 500 euros including food and nights out at clubs. About 100 euros per day. After analyzing the expenses I made, apart from having less fun and going out less, I could have booked my ticket a little earlier and saved money. A flight on low-cost airlines costs 100 euros + fees, 120 euros at most!
Tips: Book your tickets a little in advance or on low-cost airlines.
Flight price: 176 euros
Hostel price: 72 euros for 4 nights
We left on a Friday evening and returned on a Tuesday morning.
Expense analysis: The cost of the 4 days was 350 euros. The only way to pay less would have been to book our tickets to arrive on Saturday morning and thus save a night at the hotel and also about twenty euros on the plane ticket.
Tips: Leave on a Saturday morning or during weekdays (Tuesday to Thursday) with less crowded flights, for stays of 2 to 3 days also buy a metro ticket for several days.
Flight price: 140 euros
Hostel price: 80 euros for 4 nights
For this trip, I applied the advice I learned in Berlin and booked my flight 2 months in advance and thus saved money, I also chose a Scandinavian low-cost airline.
Weekend cost: 350 euros for 4 days! I really did what was needed to pay as little as possible but it is always possible to pay less. There is a service called couchsurfing which consists of asking locals abroad to borrow free sofas or beds at their place.
I could have used this service to pay less
Tips: if you have a tight budget, use the couch surfing experience, sometimes they make you dinner or offer you food, it depends on the people.
Plane ticket: 215 euros for a Thursday noon departure and Sunday morning return
Accommodation price: 90 euros for 3 nights
What I learned regarding the plane ticket booking is that I booked too late even though I had booked 1 month in advance, I could have paid 170 euros when I ordered my ticket either to arrive a little later or stay less time there but I prioritized my schedule.

Tips: for long weekends, either favor closer capitals if you book close to the date (a friend went to Barcelona for 120 euros even though he booked his ticket one week before) and better served or book your plane ticket at least 3 months in advance because I saw plane tickets to Barcelona for 120 euros and less with low-cost airlines.
