My opinion on some capitals or major cities in Europe
This year, I have traveled or will travel primarily outside of Europe even though the capitals or major cities of Europe attract me. For example, I have been to Berlin for the third time and I will discover Lisbon and Portugal in November before leaving for Brazil. In this article, I will give you some opinions on 3 capitals or major cities that I really enjoyed both from a tourist and nightlife perspective.
Capital or major city in Europe
- Berlin, one of my favorites of the last 5 years, and I have been there three times in less than two years for a total of four weeks. It is a completely crazy city that lives both day and night. What I really appreciated in this city are its many museums, all as interesting as each other, and of course the nightlife. You can find alternative places there that you don’t see anywhere else. I have already partied in old abandoned hangars, in a building with tunnels and basements with cages, it looked like we were in prison, in a building where there was heavy metal music that I found by chance when coming back home. It was a memorable moment, especially since people looked at me with wide eyes because I was one of the few dressed differently.
- London also has its very open side. I have been there more than five times and I will gladly return next time. The things that attract me there are shopping and also the anglophone “after work” vibe, where everyone meets at the bar to have a beer with colleagues. However, the party usually ends earlier than in Latin countries, but they consume as much alcohol as we do. It is funny to see the London style and their attitude towards work. In France, it is frowned upon to have a tattoo or piercing in the professional world if you are a salesperson, whereas in London, it is more or less tolerated and that’s what I found very open-minded. You also feel safe at night when you see the presence of police on the street.
- Vienna, much calmer than the previous ones, this city is full of history and interesting museums. Knowing that I really like Germanic culture, this city immediately came to mind. Having a continental climate, it quickly gets very hot and very cold depending on the season. It is a city that, in my opinion, is pleasant to live in and the population is very welcoming. Vienna has very nice neighborhoods such as Schwedenplatz where there are many cafes.

Future destinations where I would like to spend a weekend in 2014.
- Prague, a city on my to-do list.
- Barcelona, it’s a place I’ve heard so much about and I have a friend to see there.
