Conseil voyageur celebrates its first birthday
It’s been 1 year since I started my travel blog. At the time, I had many ideas to develop it and quite a few article ideas as well. After 1 year, I think I have achieved the goals I set for myself.
- To tell the story of my travels and share my adventures abroad.
- To make money with my blog, which I did by the fourth month whereas my goal was to earn money by the sixth month. Today, the outcome is more than flattering since I was able to travel thanks to the money I earned.
Travels and my memories in 2012:
I went there during the first of May weekend for 4 days and was surprised by the climate. It was 25°C while in Paris it barely reached 15°C. I really enjoyed seeing Austrian women in swimsuits sunbathing in the parks. As someone who likes Germanic women, I was not disappointed and I really enjoyed going out in Vienna at night.
After Vienna, I went to Copenhagen for the weekend of May 8th, another 4-day weekend. I really liked this city which is human-sized and very accessible by bike and public transport. Too bad that during the week, the nightlife is a bit dead. I also had good weather, but it was quite cold, a shame, I would like to see what it’s like in summer. I also took the opportunity to visit Malmö in Sweden.
I was a bit disappointed by Stockholm after Vienna and Copenhagen where I had very good times. On the other hand, I really liked the green spaces and the city in general. I have a rather mixed opinion about the nightlife, maybe I didn’t go to the right place. Too bad it’s a bit expensive, otherwise I would have returned to change my mind.
This city really surprised me, I went there to fulfill a childhood dream. I found some tourist spots too touristy! I really liked Beijing because it is a city with a lot of history and character. I stayed there a week and didn’t see everything. I would like to go back. The only negative point is that the Chinese can be a bit rude.
Another dream I fulfilled, Japanese culture is fascinating and I also really liked this country which is very different from China. There are so many things to do and so much to discover. The only downside is that it’s expensive, which can be a deterrent.
I already knew it since I went there at the same time the previous year. I was not surprised by this city. The tourist appeal is less than in London or Paris. There are many very interesting museums. Go there to taste cheap beer, kebabs, and experience the nightlife which, in my opinion, is one of the best I’ve had so far.
Quick summary 2012
I spent three and a half weeks in China and Japan, about ten days in Copenhagen, Stockholm, and Vienna, and one week in 2012 and 2013 in Berlin. (6 weeks of travel abroad in 2012, I almost spent all my holidays on the road :D).
Thanks to my blog, I was able to finance all these trips and I am grateful for that. My goals are to increase the number of visitors, which currently ranges around 200 to 250 per day. I also want to travel as much or less, but to more distant destinations. I have 3 weeks of vacation in May, but I don’t know yet where I will go. What destination would you recommend?
