Hello, first of all!
Introduction to Stefan Tanned
I am Stefan Tanned, French (of Chinese and Cambodian origin), I live in Paris, which is undoubtedly the most beautiful city in the world!
I am an apprentice blogger and a traveler full of dreams like you, if you come to my blog!!
I am passionate about languages, I speak English (lived more than a year in Australia), Chinese (Mandarin and Cantonese, my parents speak different Chinese to me), Spanish (lived more than a year in Latin America, level B1) and German (about ten trips to Germany, level B1).
My taste for the English language appeared to me when I made my first big trip at the age of 15 to the USA.
This trip opened me to the world and created a small spark that has now become a blaze!
I speak Chinese because of my origins and also because I have met many Chinese or Taiwanese during meetings on PolyglotClub.com.
During these polyglot meetings, I met many people from around the world which awakened in me this desire to travel!!
I improved my English over time, through travel, conversations with English speakers, and by watching American series. In 2009, I lived 15 months in Australia during which I toured the country (over 20,000 km, I do not have a driver’s license).
German is a long story but I do not master it completely, yet I can talk for hours on many conversation topics and laugh a little!
During my world tour in 2014, I stayed more than a year in Latin America in several countries (2 months in Mexico, 2 months in Guatemala, 6 months in Colombia, Peru, etc.). I was able to integrate with the locals and discover life on site.
I would like to learn to speak another language (Russian would be ideal) but it takes years to speak well (it’s progressing, I am self-taught)!
I also have knowledge of other languages such as Japanese, Swedish, etc.
Travels: Tanned’s World Tour in 2009
End of 2009, I graduated with a master’s degree from the University of Marne la Vallée and with the 2008 economic crisis, I decided to fulfill one of my dreams!
So I undertook a little world tour of more than 20 months (19+1) with periods of work (I say little because I did not visit many countries, only 9 countries, but long nonetheless :D).
During this trip, I toured the USA for 1 month then I went for a WHV (Working Holiday Visa) in Australia for 15 months where I toured Australia.
Then I spent 4 months in Asia (particularly Southeast Asia and then South Korea). Finally, I landed in Germany to close my trip where I hitchhiked to Metz then returned to Paris by train.

23-month World Tour in 2014
I started this world tour in September 2014 and finished it in July 2016.
During the first year, I quickly traveled through parts of Africa, Asia, Oceania, and North America. For the second year, I stayed more than a year in Latin America (3 and a half months in Central America and 9 months in South America). The goal was to practice the Spanish language.
