You must constantly be in learning mode and not let go even if you have the basics. You have to practice continuously, even if it means repeating the same sentences a hundred times, and that is something we quickly forget.
You limit yourself because you are afraid of making mistakes and think you are not good enough to speak.
You don’t meet new people from different environments, so you always use the same language. Be in constant evolution and try to always learn more.
You wait for someone to take you by the hand. Unless you are a pretty girl, no one will automatically help you; you have to take initiative.
You stagnate because you have entered your comfort zone and have not respected one of the points above.
How to become bilingual in 1 month, 2 months?
- Go towards others, don’t be afraid
- Try to participate in language groups; there are many other people who can and want to help you in exchange for your help in French.
- Learn in several ways: watch television, read newspapers, talk with people.
- Try to have a local boyfriend or girlfriend, even if after a while, they get tired of helping you, you can always get help from their friends.
- Take your time, as the title says, you will never become bilingual in 1 year.
- Step out of your comfort zone and move forward.

When I was in Australia, I think I improved my German much more than my English, because throughout my trip, I was constantly with groups of Germans and I kept trying to speak German with them. In fact, most of these people became very good friends.
